Dealer Training Newsletter
Selling conveyor is not as hard or intimidating as it may appear.  In 2010 each newsletter will focus on aspects of selling and gathering information about a customer's conveyor application.

As the economy slowly starts to rebound, I want each one of you to position yourself with the knowledge and confidence to take on new projects that increase your sales.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Guidelines For Every Project
Every project has a why:

Every non-parts replacement project requires:

Increased manufacturing, packaging and/or shipping rates A system layout.  As Simple as L x W x H or as detailed as an AutoCAD drawing.
Replace worn parts or conveyors A determination of the loaded max weight on the conveyor and/or the product rates?
Modification for improvement Product specs: Min and Max, L x W x H x Weight
Consolidation of operations or buildings A determination of the product.  Boxes, totes, pallets, buckets, wood planks, etc.
To accommodate new machinery or products
The ABC's of Conveyor

A

The rollers are put into the frame as close together or as far apart as necessary...BUT there should always be 3 rollers under the smallest box.  If your product has less than 3 rollers under it at any time your box could tumble.

LESS THAN 3 ROLLERS...box tumbles.

BEST - 3 ROLLERS UNDER AT ALL TIMES!

B

Product being conveyed should not be wider than the BR (Between Rail) of roller conveyor.  When product needs to negotiate curves the BR required will be even wider.  Contact me for assistance in determining. abc's of conveyor

C

Know the application.  The popular saying "The customer is always right." does not always apply these days.  Investigate so you can be confident that your customer's investment will last for years and your customer will be satisfied with the results.
